For diesel gikk prisen opp 4,29 kroner, mens den gikk 4,10 kroner opp for bensin. Onsdag morgen er gjennomsnittprisen for diesel høyere enn på samme tid tirsdag. Drivstoffkuttet er midlertidige og gjelder til 1. september. Kuttet kom etter at Sp, Høyre, Frp og KrF sikret flertall overstyrte Arbeiderparti-regjeringen.

Børsfallet kommer etter et fall i oljeprisen til rundt 100 dollar per fat som følge av at USAs president Donald Trump signaliserte tirsdag at Iran-krigen kan bli avsluttet i løpet av to til tre uker. Equinor falt 6,99 prosent, Vår Energi falt 5,36 prosent og Aker BP var ned 5,26 prosent rundt klokken 9.50. Equinor-aksjen stengte på rekordnivå på 420 kroner tirsdag, med en markedsverdi på 1075 milliarder kroner. Onsdag formiddag hadde børsverdien falt med 68 milliarder kroner til 1007 milliarder, ifølge tall fra Infront. Oppgangen på de asiatiske børsene onsdag kom etter at de amerikanske børsene noen timer i forveien avsluttet tirsdagshandelen med sin beste dag på nesten et år.
